My Daily Ground ("we", "us", "the app") is a personal devotional tool built by Defiance Capital Pty Ltd (ACN 650 318 406), based in Australia. We take your privacy seriously and want you to understand exactly what we collect, why, and how we protect it.
When you create an account, we collect your email address to identify your account and send your login code. You may optionally provide your first name, gender, location, and church name to personalise your experience. None of these optional fields are required to use the app.
When you use the app, we store the situations you share, the devotional reflections and prayers generated for you, and your journal history. This content is yours. We store it so you can revisit past devotionals in your journal.
If you enable push notifications, we store a technical subscription endpoint (provided by your browser or device) so we can send your morning reminder. We do not store any other device information.
Your situations and responses are sent to an AI service (Anthropic's Claude API) to generate personalised Scripture reflections and prayers. This content is processed in real time and is not stored by Anthropic beyond the immediate request. We do not use your devotional content for training AI models.
Your email address is used only for account authentication (sending your login code). We do not send marketing emails, newsletters, or promotional content unless you explicitly opt in to a future feature.
We may use aggregated, anonymised usage data (such as which devotional themes are most common) to improve the app. This data cannot be traced back to you.
Your account information and devotional history are stored on Cloudflare's infrastructure (D1 database and Workers KV), with data centres primarily in Australia and the United States. Cloudflare maintains enterprise grade security and encryption. Your data is encrypted in transit (HTTPS) at all times.
Your devotional entries, prayers, and personal reflections are private to you. No other users can see your content. The app administrator has technical access to the database for maintenance and support purposes but does not routinely read individual devotional entries.
We do not sell, rent, or share your personal data with any third party for marketing or advertising purposes. We will never do this.
The app uses the following third party services to function:
Cloudflare (hosting and database), Anthropic Claude API (generating devotional content), Resend (sending login code emails), and Stripe (payment processing, when subscriptions are active). Each of these services has their own privacy policy and we encourage you to review them.
If you subscribe to My Daily Ground, payment is processed by Stripe. We do not store your credit card number, bank details, or any payment credentials on our servers. Stripe handles all payment data under their own PCI compliant security standards. We only store a Stripe customer reference ID to link your account to your subscription.
Your account and devotional history are retained for as long as your account exists. If you delete your account, all associated data (profile, devotional entries, push subscriptions) will be permanently removed within 30 days.
You can request a copy of all data we hold about you. You can request deletion of your account and all associated data. You can update or correct your profile information at any time through the app's Profile screen. To make a data request, contact us at the email address below.
My Daily Ground is not intended for children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, please contact us and we will remove it.
We may update this privacy policy from time to time. If we make significant changes, we will notify you through the app or by email. The "last updated" date at the top of this page reflects the most recent revision.
